If you weigh above 200 pounds, then you might be a bit hesitant to try out stand up paddle boarding since most boards have a low weight limit. But don’t let that deter you from this awesome outdoor activity! So, if you’re shopping for a SUP with a high weight limit, the definitely check out one of the recommended models below.
Tower Xplorer 14′ Inflatable Stand Up Paddle Board

This board has one of the highest weight limits for a SUP that we’ve seen at 700 pounds. It’s also incredibly stable out on the water due to it being 8-inches thick. That makes it a great choice for people who are new to the sport and want something more stable.
This is a 14-foot board, which means that is quite a bit longer than most normal SUPs. This extra length means that it’s also good for taking out your dog, your kids, or other people since you have so much surface space. And that high weight limit makes it super easy and a lot of fun.
One of the great things about this SUP is that Tower is one of the best brands on the market, so you get a really high quality board for the money. And since this is a package deal, it’s nice that it comes with a paddle and pump.
If you are interested in racing or touring with your SUP board, then you’ll really love this model. Its size and design makes it perfect for paddle boarders who are interested in that sort of thing.
Overall this one is offers a good value for the money and supports lots of weight.
iRocker Inflatable ALL-AROUND Stand Up Paddle Board 11′ Long 32″ Wide 6″ Thick SUP Package

If you want something that is a bit shorter in length, and you don’t really need a weight limit over 400 lbs, then this iRocker model is a good choice. This one supports around 385 lbs of weight, which is good for overweight paddlers or those are a bit heavier and also want to take out the dog or kids.
You also get some extra accessories with this model, like with the Tower Xplorer. So, you’re all set with the paddle and pump with this one. Though, to be honest, most of the paddles that comes with boards are not of the best quality, which is why it’s always best to get your own quality SUP paddle.
This is also a good quality option and fairly stable out in the water. At six inches thick, you get better than usual stability, but not quite as great as you do with the thicker Tower Xplorer model. Generally speaking, the editors here at Just Paddleboard recommend 6-inches thickness for most paddle boarders due to it offer good stability.
The benefit of this board over the Tower Xplorer is that it is designed to be an all arounder instead of a touring/racing board. This means that you can expect it to work well in most water conditions as it was designed with versatility in mind. A few of the other recommended SUPs on our list above are also all arounders, but this one should meet your needs if that’s they type of board you’re looking for at this weight limit capacity.
ISLE Classic Soft Top 10’8 Stand Up Paddle Board (5″ Thick) SUP Package

If you prefer a good rigid SUP instead of an inflatable model, then we suggest this ISLE hard body paddle board. It is very affordable and it performs really well in most all water conditions out there.
The weight limit on this one is a bit lower at 275 pounds if you get the 10’8 length model. It’s also worth mentioning that the thickness level on this hard SUP board is at five inches. That’s still pretty good in terms of stability on the water, but do know that we prefer at least 6-inches for beginner and intermediate paddlers.
