Fun Games To Play On Your Stand Up Paddle Board

Fun Games To Play On Your Stand Up Paddle Board

If you enjoy taking your SUP out on the water, then you already know that doing so is a lot of fun. But what about when you’re paddling with a group of friends or family? Sure, you can all just enjoy paddling side by side, or you could do something a bit more fun for a small group of people. You can play a game or two while you’re out there.

The Paddle Polo Stick

If you’re anything like me, then the words “water polo” instantly give you thoughts of posh country club types, but hear me out on this one.

I recently learned of something called the paddle polo stick, which is basically just an attachment for your SUP paddle that turns it into something that you can use for all sorts of fun out there. So, when you add it to your paddle, it looks a lot like one of those lacrosse sticks.

And that’s why you can play paddle polo and other fun games with it.

The Games

As you can imagine, this attachment gives you the ability to play more than just water lacrosse out there on your SUP. In fact, the people who make this cool attachment have lots of great options for you to try.

Paddle Polo

Obviously, the reason this thing was created, you can play Paddle Polo, which is described as a cross between ultimate frisbee, lacrosse, football, water polo and soccer. Sounds epic, eh? They have full directions for the game on their website (just click on the “Games, Training, & Activities” tab and scroll down until you see it listed). The cool thing about this game is that it works for just two people or ten people, so it’s fun for however many people are paddling out with you.

Paddle Baseball

It’s no shock that you can also use this gear to have a fun game of baseball out on the water. Of course, this game is better for larger group of people since baseball requires lots of players. And quickly paddling to the “bases” after you get in a “hit” will give you quite the workout!

Paddle Golf

Since golf balls don’t float, you’ll have to improvise here and use a flying disc or frisbee. The nice thing about this game is that you can actually play it solo, or with a group. So, if you paddle out alone and are looking for something new to do while you’re out on the water, then this just might be it.

Paddle Polo Racing

This is another great option for someone who does their SUPing solo, but who wants something fun to do while out on the paddleboard. The basics for this game are super easy. Toss the ball as far out as you can, and the race to retrieve it as fast as you can. The benefit of this game is that it helps you to better your maneuvering, speed, and balance when on your SUP. If course, if you have a friend that can go out with you, then you can make it a true race or competition. Of course, this will force you to get even better at getting around on your board quickly.
